Work takes most of your waking hours. When it is hurting, everything hurts. Whether you are burned out, stuck under a difficult boss, or standing at a crossroads, counseling gives you room to sort out what work is doing to you and what you want to do about it.
The Sunday night dread that starts earlier every week. The inbox you check in bed. The boss whose name in your notifications makes your stomach drop. Or the quieter version: you are good at your job, maybe even successful, and somewhere along the way it stopped meaning anything. You are running on fumes and calling it normal.
Work problems are rarely just work problems. A career carries identity, security, pride, and fear all at once, which is why a bad season at work can unsettle everything else. It is also why a difficult decision, whether to stay, push back, or leave, can feel impossible to make alone at 2 am. This is a place to make it with someone.
In our sessions at my Towson office, we will work together to:
This is therapy, not resume coaching. We work on the person carrying the career, because when you change, your options tend to change with you.
I am Matthew Richardson, and my practice is built on one idea: no two working lives look alike, so no two treatment plans should either. Sessions are unhurried and confidential, in a comfortable office on Allegheny Avenue in the heart of Towson, a short drive from anywhere in Baltimore County. Prefer to meet from home? Secure online sessions are available to clients anywhere in Maryland, with the same care and the same confidentiality as meeting in person.
And because work does not leave much daylight, evening appointments are available Monday through Thursday.
Therapy. A coach works on your resume and your next move; we work on the person making the move: the burnout, the confidence, the patterns that follow you from job to job. The two can complement each other.
Yes. Even when the workplace is genuinely bad, you still face real decisions about how to respond, protect yourself, and plan your exit. Therapy helps you act from clarity instead of depletion.
Yes. In addition to in-person sessions at the Towson office, I offer secure video sessions for clients located anywhere in Maryland. Many people mix the two, coming into the office when they can and meeting online when life gets busy.
Yes. Evening sessions are available Monday through Thursday until 8:00 pm.
